The Company primarily focuses on a hypermarket format. The principle of the ”O’KEY” hypermarket is based on modern Western European hypermarkets, offering a wide assortment of products and goods at competitive prices as well as providing an in-store bakery, large car park, light and spacious trading areas, a playground for children and a full range of additional services. O’KEY is also developing a supermarket chain to complement the main hypermarket operations. This will provide customers with an opportunity to shop at affordable prices in a comfortable environment, within walking distance of their homes.
Each member of O’KEY Group’s management team has international experience and deep knowledge and understanding of the Russian food retail market. In addition, the company has over 19, 000 highly qualified employees who work in shops and offices across Russia. ”O’KEY” believes that its people are its biggest asset and the driving force behind its success.
Strategy
O’KEY Group launched its first hypermarket in St. Petersburg in 2002, quickly becoming the retail leader in the region. Rapid and sustainable development has been its strategy since then. The Company is actively expanding its regional operations and by 2015 will be welcoming customers to stores in 25 of Russia’s largest cities.
”O’KEY” is also focused on the development of its logistics system. As the Company’s import operations and development of products and goods under its own private labels continue to grow, warehouse capacity is expanded regularly to support this. Optimisation of inventory levels, as well as improvements in supply chain and space capacity management are important to the Group. ”O’KEY” has short-term plans to set up a cross-docking platform network; this modern logistics mechanism will enable faster delivery of products and goods to its stores.
The Company is also working on advancing its IT infrastructure to support its expansion and operational efficiency. It plans to implement a number of innovative IT solutions which will enable ”O’KEY” to better forecast demand and improve the effectiveness of both its customer-focused category management and supply chain systems.
A wide assortment of quality products and the ability to tailor its consumer offering according to regional demand strengthen the Group’s competitive positioning. ”O’KEY” aims to provide its customers with the broadest range of products and goods, including its own deli and baked goods, as well as seasonal food and non-food selections. In the future, the Company intends to improve its customer feedback programme further, allowing it to tailor store offerings to the needs and preferences of individual regions. In addition, the Company constantly continues to develop product ranges under its own private labels.
